Still, it's felt kind of weird helping a man who once looked at him as if he were less than dirt, and ensuring that he is fed and clothed and alive, despite his melodramatic desire to be none of these things.

[Well, that isn't promising. Maybe Asher knows about this stuff already. Maybe Achilles has been with other guys he's gone further with and everyone already knows but him.]

I was kind of seeing him for a few weeks.

It was super casual. It didn't go anywhere.

I was too nervous to ask him out properly because he's so far above my league already and I figured if he was from here it's not like it could go anywhere anyway.

He really cooled off when we found out when we were both Audentes.

I couldn't figure out why because that seemed like it should have been a good thing for us, but I guess he was scared his boyfriend would find out he was hitting on guys behind his back.

You asked about me though. I can't tell you about experiences I haven't had. I'm gay. I go to places where I'm likely to meet other gay guys. It shouldn't be a surprise that the vast majority of people who have hit on me are men.

The kind of situation you're giving me here isn't about getting free samples. It's about flirting with someone and seeing if you hit it off. Even if you don't make it past dancing or making out or whatever when it starts out there's hope there things will work out.

You shouldn't be feeling someone up just for fun, especially not if you're already in a relationship. It's misleading and it's hurtful for the other person when they realize you were just doing it to objectify them and not because you wanted to be with them.

But that isn't the point.

I know you think I'm misinterpreting things, but that wasn't what happened with us. If he didn't want to have something together he wouldn't have wanted us to see each other again.

So yeah. That's been bothering me.

This is the clearest Oliver has really ever been with him, and that's progress. There's a lot more that needs to be said here, and perhaps an apology that's required on his end, but maybe they should take things one step at a time.

Thanks, but it's OK. It's better I figured this out now than later on.

I just don't know how I'm supposed to confront him about this right after the guy he's been cheating on died.

He needs to know what he was doing was wrong, but it seems kind of harsh to do it after something so terrible has happened.

[If Asher knows he's done this before it seems even more important to drive home that it's not okay, but it does make him lose some hope he'll show any remorse in that respect. If he's been repeating it with Oliver it doesn't exactly say much for any apologies he must have had to make before.]
